Novato

Highway Death: Michael G. Grossman, a 46-year-old Petaluma man, was killed on his motorcycle as he attempted to split lanes on the 101 south of San Antonio Road near the Olompali State Historic Park in unincorporated Novato.

The California Highway Patrol said the fatal accident happened at 6:35 a.m. Grossman was reportedly splitting lanes when traffic slowed down suddenly and he hit the back of a van, then a truck.

He was dead on the scene.

Child Porn: John Baptist Delorimier Jr., a 74-year-old Bolinas man, was sentenced last week to prison for possessing child sex images. At one time Delorimier was a former assistant coach for the Tamalpais High School and Marin Catholic High School football programs and a volunteer coach for Southern Marin Youth Football. His conviction was not related to those activities.  Delorimier’s arrest came in January 2020. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about online transmissions and tracked it to Delorimier. The 300-plus images Delorimier possessed were not of Marin children, the sheriff’s department said. Delorimier pleaded guilty and is scheduled to go to prison this week.

Mill Valley

Robbery: Last week Marin Sheriff deputies were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at a business in Strawberry, which included the use of a firearm. A Mill Valley police officer who was in the area heard the information being broadcasted and quickly located the suspect vehicle as it left the area. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled before crashing in the area of the Arco Gas Station on the Frontage Road.  All four suspects fled the area on foot, but were later located, detained, arrested and booked by responding officers from @marinsheriff @millvalleypd and @tiburonpd. Officers also located two firearms and property taken during the robbery.

We always appreciate the teamwork that goes into ensuring the best possible outcome given the serious nature of these crimes and the threat these people posed to our community.
