August 8, 2022 by Marin Leave a Comment

San Rafael: Congratulations to Officer Ortiz, above for completing SRPD’s intensive Field Training Program. Officer Ortiz has been a member of SRPD’s family since 2017 when she became a cadet. Officer Ortiz is also a graduate of UC Berkeley. Be sure to say hi when you see Officer Ortiz out on the streets.

Nude Photos: The mother of a teen called the police because someone posted nude pictures of her daughter on the Internet.

Non-Member: A non-member of a facility on Manor Drive was seen picking up tennis balls on the tennis court and then interacting with children at the summer camp. Police rolled, but the suspicious man was gone.

Parked Car: A man parked his car on Sycamore Avenue and when he returned he found stuff moved around in his car and some food in the car that was not his.

Scammer: The daughter of a 90-year-old resident reported to police a possible phone scamming operation involving her mother-in-law. Police talked with the alleged scammer. The scammer hung up and no further contact was made.

Beef: A woman called police on a man who lets his dogs off leash to dig holes in a park on East Drive. She yelled at the man for “destroying public property” and called the cops. He left the park before the police arrived.

Hit Dog: A woman “flew” into the parking lot of a grocery store on Blithedale and hit a dog in the parking lot. When confronted, the woman said “f***-off” to the witness and went into the store.

Hate Message: A woman on East Manor Drive received a flier with a hate message against Jews.

Hate Message: A resident on Sycamore Avenue reported a flier with a hate message against Jews was in the driveway. It appears the flyers were left throughout the neighborhood.

Scary: A homeless man entered a yogurt shop and displayed scary behavior. He yelled at the help and slammed down his glass of water. The man was gone when police arrived.

Sex Crime: A man’s son reported a suspected sex assault of a friend. Police were notified and are investigating.

Stabbing Arrest: Cristhian Bautista Valladares, 18, of San Rafael was arrested in relation to a stabbing that took place Aug. 2 near Pickleweed Park. The investigation is continuing.

Knife: SRPD received a report of a subject yelling and brandishing a knife in the area of the Albert Park Tennis courts. SRPD officers arrived on scene and observed the suspect attempting to conceal a 8″ knife with a black handle in his pants pocket. The knife was confiscated and the suspect was arrested for multiple charges and was booked into the Marin County Jail.

Gun & Drugs: A witness reported to SRPD that people were prowling and looking under vehicles with a flashlight in a parking lot near the 400 block of First St. The witness did a great job and told SRPD Dispatch that the people were associated with a BMW and gave the plate number of the vehicle. The vehicle was seen in the area and was stopped by SRPD. It turned out that one occupant of the vehicle was on PRCS parole and the other on probation out of Stanislaus county. A search of the vehicle yielded an unloaded revolver, drug paraphernalia, and a reciprocating saw with blades commonly used for cutting catalytic converters. The two occupants were arrested on multiple charges and booked at Marin County Jail.

Swam For It: A person made a splash trying to elude the San Rafael police. Last week, police responded to a call about the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder driving recklessly in a parking lot near the 600 block of Canal Street. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the suspect was the registered owner of the vehicle and had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. The man then decided that diving into the canal was the best option for him (which it was not). The driver then stole a paddle board, but he had nowhere to go. Police fished him out of the water and took him to jail and numerous charges.

Cars With Guns: On July 30, Officer Mendoza stopped a car for a vehicle code violation. Turns out a passenger was on probation with an ankle monitor. During a search of the car, a 9mm handgun was located behind the front passenger seat, loaded. A spent shell casing was found inside the car as well. The driver and passenger were arrested for multiple gun violations.

Stealing: A man in the city’s homeless encampment in Marinship Park told police that his ex-wife and another man were taking stuff out of his tent. He told police he didn’t know how to spell his ex-wife’s name because they were married only a few months.

Knife: A woman found a knife outside her business and brought it to the police wrapped in a napkin, just in case it was involved in a recent crime. It wasn’t, but the cop log said it was “becoming more common” to find knives in and around the city’s homeless shelter in Marinship Park.

Sleeper: A person was curled up in the doorway of a home on West Street. Police moved her along.

Car Home: Between the city’s Tent City and a local business a car was parked with blankets and towels in the widows. A person has been sleeping in it for at least a week. Police service provided.

Smash ‘n Grab: A Chevy Tahoe parked on Bay Street had its window smashed and two computers and two backpacks stolen from inside.

Rotten Food: A man on July 30 told the manager of a local restaurant that the restaurant was service raw and rotten foot, to which the manager told the guy to “F*ck off.” The guy called the police to report the incident and to say that the manager was being rude because the rotten foot reporter is homosexual. He told police that the manager told the man that “we don’t serve your kind here,” according to the cop report.

Hacked: A man from San Pablo called the Sausalito PD to tell them that his Facebook account was hacked. Sausalito PD told him to contact the San Pablo PD. Not a joke. This is actually on the cop log.

Stabbing: The Marin County Sheriff’s Department is seeking a suspect in a stabbing incident. The suspect is Brian Jordan, a 37 year old white male from Corte Madera, CA. Jordan is 6’3″, 230 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes. Our efforts to locate Jordan have been unsuccessful and Jordan is not in custody at this time.

If you see this guy, call the police.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Jordan or who has information that may lead to his arrest is asked to contact the Marin County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division at (415) 473-7265 or our 24hr Dispatch at (415 479-2311. If you see Jordan in public, please call 911 and DO NOT APPROACH him.

On July 19,  just before midnight, Deputies were dispatched to a reported stabbing in the 200 block of McAllister Avenue in Kentfield. Deputies arrived on scene a short time later and located a male suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. The investigation has revealed the following: The victim went to leave a residence in the area and saw a person stealing items out of his vehicle. The suspect ran on foot and the victim gave chase. The victim called a friend and asked for help finding the suspect and did not immediately call 9-1-1. The victim and his friend located the suspect in the area. A fight ensued resulting in the victim being stabbed multiple times. The friend of the victim called 911 after the suspect ran away on foot.

Burglary: Two people were arrested in a Muir Beach burglary. They were: Jonathan R. Goldner, 38, and Ebony Celeste Jordan, 40, both from Dixon, CA.

On July 30, Deputies from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office investigated a residential burglary in Muir Beach in which cash and numerous electronics were stolen. During the investigation, deputies identified two suspects from Solano County. A search warrant was authored by a Deputy from the Patrol Division on the suspect’s residence in Dixon, CA (Solano County).

Aug. 2, Detectives from the Investigations Division including the Specialized Investigative Unit served the search warrant and located the suspects in possession of the stolen property. Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail for burglary, conspiracy, and possession of stolen property.
