MILL VALLEY
Tam High Bully: A father notified police that his son is being bullied at Tam High School by another student sending threatening screen shots. The screen shots suggested that the boy should die by ingestion of a chemical substance. Police ruled the incident less of a death threat and more of an ongoing bullying issue. School was notified.
Dementia: An 80-year-old woman called police and said she was being abused by the staff at her facility. Police determined there was no merit to the elder-abuse charge. The woman has dementia and she sometimes gets agitated after her diaper change.
CraigsList: A citizen on Hazel Avenue was notified that a fraudulent ad is on Criag’s List using her address, but a different phone number. The ad says “text” only. The citizen notified Craig’s List, but the ad is still up and she’s afraid someone is going to get scammed.
Leaf Blower: A gas powered leaf blower was reported on Miller. Cops on the lookout.
Road Rage: An angry driver threw a bottle at another car on Blithedale and Roque morales on April 24. Police issued a “BOL” – Be On the Lookout – for the bottle thrower but to no avail.
Creek Kids: Several citizens report a gaggle of middle-schoolers jumping off the Park Avenue Bridge into the creek, then parading around in their underwear. Police contacted the kids several times about the dangers of their activity.
Left Behind: A Novato man was left behind in Mill Valley by a co-worker after an argument. The man left behind only spoke Spanish. Police assisted in getting the crew to return to get the man.
Parking Dispute: A woman called police because she parked in front of Terra Marin school to pick up her child. When she returned, a rude man awaited her, started at her, and told her she was in “his parking spot.”
FAIRFAX
Robber: On April 23, a grocery clerk reported a man stealing stuff in the store. Employees tried to stop him, but he punched an employee and fled.
Gotta Go: A man defecated in Peri Park. A concerned citizen followed the park pooper to a local coffee shop and called the cops. But the park pooper left before the police arrived.
Vagrant: A vagrant in Fairfax Park, holding a liquor bottle and under the influence, approached three 15-year-old kids and told them they were “beautiful.” Police arrested the man for public drunkenness.
Fruit Picker: A man in his 70s asked a woman on Belmont Avenue if he could pick a few fruit from the tree on her property. She said “yes” but then called the police because she felt uncomfortable with the old man around. She didn’t want him coming back. Police gave the woman advice on how to make that happen.
Signs OK: A citizen emailed the Town Council saying that the signs on a local coffee shop extended into the street and therefore should be taken down. Police took a look and determined the signs were just fine.
SAN RAFAEL
Stabbing: Two men were arrested in a stabbing incident in the Canal District. Carlos Gonzales-Davila, and Santos Gonzalez-Herrera, 19 and 21 respectively, both San Rafael residents, were taken to jail for felony assault. The victim, who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital. The attack was caught on video.
Robbery: In Pickleweed Park on Saturday, April 22, a man pulled a gun on another man and demanded money. When the victim said he had no money, the gunman left and was later arrested by San Rafael’s finest.
Stolen Car: On April 21, a Deputy saw an occupied vehicle parked on the street near a parking lot in Marin City. The deputy consensually contacted the driver and through his investigation found the vehicle was reported stolen from Oakland. The vehicle had stolen license plates from a similar vehicle in order to make it more difficult to detect. A search of the vehicle yielded an embossing machine used to create fraudulent credit cards, numerous fraudulent credit cards, multiple fraudulent identification cards, burglary tools and a loaded, unregistered firearm. The occupant of the vehicle was already on Post Release Community Supervision for a prior weapons offense and was arrested for numerous crimes and booked into the Marin County Jail.
