Purse Snatcher: A man in a white Range Rover tried to steal a woman’s purse from her vehicle. The man was described as caveman-ish. He either had an injury to his head or a protruding brow. Disposition: Report Taken.
Vandalism: Officer initiated activity at Broadway, Fairfax. West side wall. Report Taken.
Road Rage: Occurred at Sir Francis Drake Bl/Broadmoor Av. Driver did not use signal and mimicked that he would hit the caller with his vehicle . Verbal warning issued.
Stalker: A man on a bicycle was following a woman and attempted to stop her multiple times. Once she stopped at her destination and parked in the carport she realized she was still being followed. She tried to leave but the suspect would block her from leaving. Advice Given.
Flashing Badge: On Cascade Drive, a 40-ish man in a white SUV flashed a police badge. Real police with real badges rolled to the scene, but the faux officer was gone.
Living in Car: A person was living in his vehicle and dumping trash all around. He was 60-ish with a long white beard. Disposition: Service Provided.

Son’s Picture: A mom reported that at the end of Francis Avenue there is a picture of her 14 year old son on a tree. Doesn’t know why it is there and she’s worried about the safety of her son. Disposition: Advice Given.
Coyote: On Pine Drive a citizen reported a sick coyote under a black Mercedes SUV. Outside assistance called.
Political Signs: Someone posted political signs on town property. Disposition: Service Provided.
Road Rage: A man in a car tailgated another car and flashed a gun at a stop light. Disposition: Service Provided.

Mountain Bikes: A citizen called police to complain about fast mountain bikes on nearby trails. Advice given.
Craigslist: A resident told police that her home is being listed on Craigslist as an AirBnB and it’s being used to scam people. She doesn’t know who is posting it on Craigslist. Advice given.
Insurance Man: A guy wearing a yellow vest that said “insurance” stood in a man’s backyard taking pictures. The man called his insurance company and th guy wasn’t from the company. The vested man then split in a dark grey Kia.
Sketchy Painting: Police responded to a report of a $50k painting that was lent to a friend and now he can’t get it back. Several details changed in the person’s story. Civil matter.
Noisy: The annual block party on Oxford Avenue received a noise complaint. When received, the music was turned down. Block party pro tip: Invite ALL the neighbors.
Car Burglary: The window of a car on Eucalyptus Knoll was broken into and items taken. Police investigating.
Assault: A homeless man pushed a gardener to the ground and walked away. It happened at a home on Molino Avenue. Complaint filed.
Sausalito
Aug. 26 – Sept. 1, 2021
Naked Walker: An 80-ish man walked across the street next to the police department wearing only a hat and “a sash Sumo style.” The sash did not fully cover him.
Peeper: A man living in Tent City in Marinship Park was seen peering into cars in a parking lot. Police talked to him and told him to stop it.
On A Bench: A homeless man was on a bench off of Cloud View Road. A citizen wanted him checked out and moved along. Police found the man by himself and not bothering anyone. No crime and not bothering anyone.
Mayhem: A citizen who lives off of Filbert Avenue called to say he could hear raccoons eating chickens “and it was horrible.” Police responded, but could not find the chicken coop. All was quiet. Racoons win again.
No Mask: A customer of a store on Caledonia Street refused to put on a mask. Not being aggressive, just refusing to wear a mask while in the store. Maskless was removed from the store.
Found Bags: Several bags mostly from Sausalito were found at the Presidio ranger station. Items returned to Sausalito.
Trying to Park: A Kia sedan rolled into the bay when the driver lost control while trying to park. No one was injured.
Dumpster Fire: A dumpster on Marinship Way caught fire next to a fish restaurant. A man was seen running away and told Tent City in Marinship Park. The building next to the dumpster was not threatened.
Knapsack: A knapsack was found on Marship way. NARCN was scattered near the Knapsack. Not sure what else is inside the knapsack. Police are handling the situation. The owner of the knapsack is believed to be inside the Tent City.
Broken Windows: An SUV was parked on Gordon Street with two broken windows. Neighbors are not familiar with the vehicle.
Grand Theft: A bike was stolen off of the back of a car parked on Liberty Ship Way.

Mt. Lassen Fire: Crews remain on scene of the Mt.Lassen Fire to mop up. You may see some smoke throughout the day as crews work to fully extinguish the ~44 acre fire. County and CSD Open Space in the area are closed for recreational use. Please avoid the area.

Why don’t you include other cities such as Novato? There’s definitely crime there!

Thanks for that comment. The reason crime in various jurisdictions appears uneven is because every jurisdiction reports the information differently. Some towns are easier to extract than others. We watch Novato closely.
