Marin candidate filing now open for March election

If you feel called to public service, the nomination period is open for federal, state and local offices in the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election.The nomination period ends at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, with an extension to Wednesday, Dec. 13, if an incumbent officeholder does not file. When it comes to Marin County representation, seats open for nomination include:– United States Senator (full term), U.S. Senator (partial term), and U.S. Representative in Congress.– California State Assembly Member.– Marin County Superior Court Judges (three seats).– Marin County Board of Supervisors – Districts 2, 3 and 4.– Almonte Sanitary District and Ross Valley Sanitary District board members.– County political party central committees.– Larkspur City Council and Ross Town Council (municipal candidates must file nomination documents with their respective city clerk).Except for those running for city and town offices, candidates may pick up and file their nomination papers at the Marin County Elections Department, Suite 121, Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael. The hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8.Candidates can access both the application form and candidate guide online at www.marinvotes.org.
