The Board of Directors of Marin Community Clinics, Marin County’s largest community clinic system, on Nov. 14 announced the appointment of Farhan Fadoo as its new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment, which will be effective Dec. 1, follows a national search. Fadoo succeeds Mitesh Popat.
“Dr. Fadoo is an extremely strong leader and has an impressive track record.,” said Nelson Branco, the Clinics’ Board Chair. “A highly motivated and experienced healthcare executive and family medicine physician, he has achieved remarkable success in advancing health care delivery networks. His powerful combination of experience in community health, direct clinical practice, primary care innovation, quality improvement, financial management, and information technology brings the leadership qualities necessary to lead an organization like ours in this ever-challenging healthcare environment.”

Dr. Fadoo, who comes to Marin Community Clinics with over 16 years of leadership experience in the healthcare sector, most recently served as CEO of San Joaquin County Health Centers, a federally qualified, multi-clinic network of community clinics that cares for an estimated 35,000 individuals/year. He also served as the Chief Health Information Officer at San Joaquin General Hospital and the Center, and as a family practice physician at Community Medical Centers, Inc. (Stockton), where he provided care to underserved, multi-cultural patients.
He received his medical degree from the University of California (San Francisco) and also holds Master of Science degrees in both Health Informatics and Neurophysiology from the University of Illinois (Chicago) and the University of California (Davis), respectively.
