Marin County to Sheriff: Freeze out Biden’s ICE agents

December 31, 2022 by Marin Leave a Comment

The Marin County Board of Supervisors would like new Marin Sheriff Jamie Scardina to further disassociate with President Joe Biden’s federal immigration leadership.

The Sheriff’s Department  significantly scaled back its involvement with ICE under President Trump beginning in 2018. In August 2020, the sheriff’s office stopped allowing Trump’s ICE agents into the jail to take inmates into custody.

Supervisors would like the Sheriff to notify Biden’s ICE agents only when the prisoner is actually convicted of a crime.
