In the second week of post-COVID prep football, all Marin high schools swung into action.
Here’s a recap of the second week.
ARCHIE WILLIAMS
The new name of Drake High School (Archie Williams High School) seems to be a lucky charm for the football team this year. AWHS is now 2-0 for the season with a win Saturday (Sept. 4) over Lowell of San Francisco. The final score was 39-0.
NOVATO
The Hornets’ dropped a game against Montgomery on Friday night (Sept. 3). The Vikings plundered their way to a 55-3 victory. The Hornets play Kennedy at 2 p.m. Sept. 11.
SAN MARIN
Novato’s San Marin Mustangs ran wild over West County by the score of 57-20 on Friday (Sept. 3). That puts the Mustangs at 2-0 for the season. They play the 0-2 Moreau Catholic Mariners on Friday (Sept. 10).
MARIN CATHOLIC
Perennial powerhouse Marin Catholic cruised to a road victory over Concord, 62-0. The Wildcats defeated Cerrito 6-0 in their first game. They play Casa Grande on Friday (Sept. 10).
SAN RAFAEL
The Bulldogs of San Rafael High School opened the 2021 season with a 37.7 road win against Healdsburg on Friday (Sept. 3).
BRANSON
Branson High School Bull’s 8-man football team defeated Laytonville on Saturday (Sept. 4) by the score of 48-8.
TAMALPAIS
The Tam High School Red-Tailed Hawks swooped down on Kennedy High School to win their football matchup Saturday (Sept. 4) by the score of 39-0.
