Marin’s population drops slightly; San Rafael takes the biggest hit

Marin County dropped in population by 2,614 residents, or 1% of its population, reducing its total to 257,774. The biggest loss happened in San Rafael which suffered a loss of 369 people. The smallest loss occurred in Novato, where the population dropped by 55. Marin’s unincorporated area lost the highest percentage of residents, 2.6%, or 1,809 people.
