Marinscope: Names in the News

Sydney Costan

Sydney Costan, of San Rafael, was among nearly 500 new students at Canisius College, navigating college life for the first time while embracing a new normal marked by the coronavirus. The incoming class includes first-year and transfer students, and represents more than 200 high schools from 21 states and eight countries. Costan graduated from Terra Linda High School. Canisius is a masters-level comprehensive university that offers undergraduate, graduate and professional programs distinguished by close, student-faculty collaboration and experiential learning opportunities that transform students’ minds and spirits. It is one of 27 Jesuit, Catholic colleges in the nation.

Jack Herzog 

Jack Herzog, an Economics major at Colgate from Ross, made the Dean’s list at the New York college. At Colgate that means he achieved a grade point average of 3.6 or better during the spring 2020 semester. 

Emma Hubbard

Emma Hubbard, an International Relations major at Colgate from Corte Madera, made the Dean’s list at the New York college. That means she achieved a grade point average of 3.6 or better. 

Abigail King

Abigail King joined the Knox College community by enrolling for the 2020 fall term. King, of Mill Valley  graduated from Tamalpais High School high school. Founded in 1837, Knox College is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois. 

Emily Newbury

Emily Newbury, a Neuroscience major at Colgate from Larkspur, made the Dean’s list at the New York college. That means she achieved a grade point average of 3.6 or better. 

Jocelyn Shilakes

Jocelyn Shilakes of Mill Valley and a Chinese major at Colgate University Class of 2022 made the Dean’s list at the New York college. That means she achieved a grade point average of 3.6 or better. 

Kathleen Winnick

Kathleen Winnick, a Neuroscience major at Colgate from Ross, made the Dean’s list at the New York college. At Colgate that means she achieved a grade point average of 3.6 or better during the spring 2020 semester.
