Dear editor,
Just a note to say I really enjoy your “Marinscope” paper and look forward to reading each issue.
My grandfather moved to Sausalito in 1907. An early job he had was as a drayman moving furniture in a horse drawn wagon. He said it would take an entire day to deliver a wagonload to San Rafael & return. Talk about a different time, so I enjoy the historical articles but especially like your insights into local politics.
I lived in Mill Valley 1948-75, On a boat in San Rafael ’75-’86, and here in Novato from ’86 on so I’ve seen a bit here abouts.
I always thought Fairfax was kind of quirky, used to call it “Mayberry on LSD” but never realized that Democratic Socialists of America influenced their city council. Great cause for alarm!
