Meet the new middle school principal at Novato’s Sinaloa Middle School

March 6, 2024 by Marin Leave a Comment

The Novato Unified School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Christy Stocker as the Principal for Sinaloa Middle School, effective July 1, 2024. The NUSD Board of Trustees approved the appointment at its March 5, 2024, board meeting.

Ms. Stocker has been serving as the Interim Principal at Sinaloa Middle School since August 2023, stepping into the role after the departure of Jeff Wallace, who transitioned to the position of Director of Fiscal Services. Following an interview process and consideration of feedback from the school staff, Ms. Stocker was invited to continue in the principal role to ensure consistency and stability within the school community. With a career dedicated to education, Ms. Stocker brings a wealth of experience to Sinaloa and NUSD. She previously served as the principal in Nicasio for 10 years and spent a year and a half as an assistant principal at Novato High School before returning to the middle school classroom.  Known for her teaching abilities, Ms. Stocker will continue at Sinaloa and share her extensive experience as an instructional leader.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington and a Masters in Educational Administration from Seattle University. “We are delighted that Christy will continue to serve as principal at Sinaloa Middle School,” remarked NUSD Superintendent Dr. Tracy Smith. “As interim principal, Christy has demonstrated strong instructional leadership, and I am thrilled that she will continue to serve NUSD as the principal at Sinaloa.”
