Gravity Tavern in downtown Mill Valley has announced the appointment of Jessette Kalsi as Executive Chef. Using her personal combination of experience and creativity, Chef Jessette has enhanced Gravity Tavern’s Modern American menu so as to fully realize the vision of proprietors Gar and Lara Truppelli who head up the Chalet family of restaurants and opened Gravity in 2019.
Chef Jessette graduated from the culinary academy at Contra Costa College with honors and has subsequently also studied at the Instituto de Barilla in Italy where she learned the techniques of authentic cheese-making and charcuterie. She has worked at prestigious restaurants including Va de Vi Bistro & Wine Bar in Walnut Creek, Michael Mina’s RN74 in San Francisco, Iron Chef in Napa, Riot House in West Hollywood and RH Restaurant in Yountville, plus started her own high end catering company. Her career has come to be defined by a talent for uniting eastern and western flavors, French plating, and creating standout dishes using premier ingredients.
