Nick’s Cove boathouse goes up in flames

Just before 5 p.m., dispatch received reports of a structure fire on the 23000 block of Shoreline Hwy in Marshal. Marin County Fire Department units responded and found a fully engulfed boat house at the end of the pier. The unit was unoccupied and was contained in about 30 minutes. Firefighters remained on scene until about 7:30 p.m. for mop-up. Cause of the fire is under investigation.

Responding units include Marin County Fire Department, Sonoma County Fire District Coast Guard Two Rock Fire Station and Tomales Volunteer Fire Company.

The Boat House is owned and managed by the popular restaurant, Nicks Cove.
