NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Marin has completed a draft application for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s new Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing grant program.
The County’s Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing application is available for public review and comment beginning on Monday, October 9th. The application can be accessed on the Marin County Federal Grants webpage. Please email your comments to federalgrants@marincounty.org by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Please include “Pathways to Housing” in the subject line.
The Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing grant program, through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD),is designed to support communities who are actively taking steps to remove barriers to affordable housing. Marin County has been identified as a priority geography with a significant need for additional affordable housing. The grant would fund activities to implement housing element programs and policies to support housing choice and homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income households.
NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the County will hold a public hearing on the PRO Housing application with the County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday October 17, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. or thereafter. The public hearing will be accessible via Zoom or in person at the Marin County Board Chambers located at: 3501 Civic Center Drive, Suite 330, San Rafael, CA 94903. The Zoom link and additional information are available on the Board of Supervisors meeting webpage.
Following review of public comments and testimony, staff will make necessary revisions and the final application will be submitted to HUD by October 31, 2023.
