Novato Parklet workshop July 21

July 16, 2021 by Marin Leave a Comment

The City of Novato is inviting residents to join the Novato Design Review Commission for a workshop on July 21, at 7 p.m. as they begin considering the aesthetics and design concepts for outdoor dining in Novato’s Downtown. The meeting will be in-person at the Novato City Council Chambers at 901 Sherman Avenue. The unvaccinated must wear a face covering.

Dining outdoors along Grant Avenue for the last year has been one of the bright spots during the COVID pandemic. With the lifting of COVID restrictions, the temporary outdoor dining will soon expire – so the City is developing a Downtown Parklet Program to allow permanent outdoor dining spaces to be installed that are designed to integrate with Downtown Novato’s overall ambiance and atmosphere.

The Design Review Commission will begin this process by identifying the design aesthetics, materials, styles and amenities that will form the guidelines and standards for a permanent program.

The meeting is open to the public.
