The Novato City Birthday Party Committee has produced a 30-minute video that will be shown Friday, Jan. 22, to honor the city’s 61st birthday and unveil winners of the Novato Citizen of the Year and the first (and last?) Pandemic Assistance Award.
The show will be livestreamed on the Paint the Town Red YouTube channel and simulcast on Novato Community Television’s Channel 26 starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Citizen of the Year is usually surprised on the night of the gala and lured on stage to make a speech. This time, the recipient was notified of the award with a surprise knock on the front door and the reaction was filmed. The recipient of the new Pandemic Assistance Award will recognize a Novato resident or business owner for services to the community during COVID-19.
The show will also include musical entertainment by local recording artists.
