Novato’s Capt. Kim Lesik is the first of her kind

Capt. Kim Lesik

The Novato Fire District has announced that Kim Lesik has been promoted to Engine Captain.

Lesik is the first female in the district’s history to hold such a position. 

Kim was hired at NFD as a firefighter paramedic in 2003. Kim has a bachelor’s degree in science from Cal State Long Beach. She holds certifications as a California State Fire Officer, Engine Boss, Truck Qualification and Trainer, Basic Life Support instructor, is a confined space rescue technician, and holds certificates in many additional fire related coursework. Kim is currently the director of the Novato Fire Foundation and has participated as an instructor in the Norcal First alarm Girls Fire Camp.
