NOVATO FIRE DISTRICT PRESS RELEASE

We are saddened to share the passing of retired Fire Chief Jim Berthinier.

Chief Berthinier, pictured at left, proudly served the Novato Fire District for 35 years, beginning his career in 1961 and serving as our 8th Fire Chief for 15 of those years. During his leadership, he oversaw the construction of both Station 61 and Station 62, helping to shape the foundation of the District we know today.

Chief Berthinier’s legacy continues at Station 61, where the training room bears his name in honor of his lasting contributions to our organization and community.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who served alongside him.
