PeaceNovato will hold a vigil defending the right to choose and other vital civil liberties on Friday, Sept. 9 at Novato City Hall (Sherman and DeLong) from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
“‘It’s hard to imagine a mid-term election more consequential to the fabric of our American Democracy than the one coming up on November 8,” declares PeaceNovato Chair Julie Manson. “We invite citizens to join us in protest against the overturn of Roe v. Wade and threats to other civil liberties such as LBGTQX rights, the right to use contraception, the right to travel to another state for health procedures and–given the anti-choice backing from some religious organizations–the separation of church and state,” Manson added.
“‘It’s time for every citizen to stand up, speak out and, if you’re eighteen or older, vote.”
Voter registration forms in English and Spanish will be made available, as well as information on how to submit them and where to vote.
“For more information, contact Julie Manson at (415) 883-8324.”
