Principal Larson gets the nod

February 2, 2023 by Marin Leave a Comment

It was announced at the Novato Unified School Board meeting last week that Jennifer Larson, above, will be elevated to full principal at San Marin High School.

The Novato Unified School District Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Jennifer Andrews Larson to the position of San Marin High School Principal effective July 1.  Larson, a native Novato resident, is now serving as Interim Principal and Assistant Superintendent for the 2022-23 school year.

During Larson’s 20 years with NUSD, Jennifer has served as teacher at Sinaloa, mentor teacher, teacher leader, and swim coach at SMHS.  Dr. Larson was selected to join the NUSD Education Services Department to serve in a variety of capacities, as no matter where Jennifer serves, she does so with a positive spirit, approaches challenges as opportunities, and remains steadfast in her dedication and commitment to student success, staff support, parent and community inclusion, and the commitment to make a difference in the lives of NUSD students.

“The Trustees and I have every confidence in Jen’s leadership and ability to serve with the same enthusiasm and exceptional skill set that she has always demonstrated throughout her career,” said Superintendent Jan La Torre-Derby.

“My commitment is to work with an equity lens providing success for every student. The focus of my work, both in the classroom and as an educational leader, has been to support student leadership, provide opportunities for student success, support the leadership capacity for our professional teachers, and work side by side with classified staff and the parent community on behalf of students.”
