Redwood No. 1 public school in Marin; No. 197 in the nation

The highest ranked public high school in Marin, according to a new nationwide ranking, is Redwood in Larkspur. 

It came in at  No. 197 in the nation, according to the website Niche. The website bases its ranking on data from the U.S. Department of Education, standardized test scores, graduation rates, Advanced Placement enrollment, college admissions and survey results submitted by Niche users.

Other top public schools in the Bay Area on the list were:

– Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto (No. 35).

– Palo Alto High School (No. 46).

– Saratoga High School (No. 51)

–  Los Altos High School (No.96). 

Of private schools, Branson in Ross rated No. 86 nationally.
