San Rafael Police investigate shooting

On Saturday, May 25th, 2024, at approximately 02:39 PM, San Rafael Police Dispatch received multiple calls of a disturbance on the 500 block of “D ” Street.
As officers responded to that location, additional callers to SRPD Dispatch reported a traffic collision on the 500 block of “B” Street. Additional officers responded to “B” Street, where they located a collision involving several vehicles. Two suspects were seen running away from the scene.
Responding officers located a male victim suffering gunshot wounds. The San Rafael Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital.
Based on our initial investigation, these two incidents are connected and are confined to the individuals involved. There is no threat to the public at large. This is an ongoing and active investigation. We urge residents of the area to review their home surveillance cameras for any video footage of the incidents.


UPDATE:
On 5/29/24, a juvenile involved in the shooting incident that occurred on B Street this past Saturday has turned himself in. Because of the suspects’ age we are not releasing any identifying information. The suspect was booked at MCJH.


UPDATE:
**Update on B Street Shooting Investigation**
San Rafael, CA – On May 30, 2024, at approximately 9:30 AM, Andy Arevalo, the shooter involved in
the B Street incident, turned himself into the San Rafael Police Department. Arevalo, an 18-year-old male from San Rafael, will be booked at the Marin County Jail on three counts of Attempted Homicide (664/187 PC) and one count of Conspiracy (182 PC).
We deeply regret that this tragic event occurred, and our heartfelt condolences go out to all the
victims and community members affected, but we are pleased to announce that there are no longer
any outstanding suspects in this case.
Investigators in this case are continuing to process evidence and interview any witnesses to this
