Search ongoing for missing boater off China Camp area

UPDATE: Marin County sheriff’s Search and Rescue unit have called off a search for a Marin fisherman who went missing on Christmas Day. Will Chebib, 32, left on his boat from the Black Point dock in Novato. Chebib’s white 14-foot fishing boat named Lil LB was discovered near Point San Pablo around 11:30 a.m. Monday. Chebib was not aboard.

This is an alert from the Marin County Sheriff’s Department:

Search in Progress. The Marin County Sheriff’s SAR Unit and Sheriff’s Marine Patrol are assisting the US Coast Guard in the search for a missing boater who did not return from an outing yesterday, thought to be fishing off China Camp State Park. We have thirty members deployed on ebikes and on foot searching the shoreline areas off Novato and San Rafael. The Marin County US&R Water Rescue Team is also deployed. Overnight and today the US Coast has completed extensive air and water search. Please see the missing person poster below and report any clues you may have if you were out on the water yesterday in the area to the the US Coast Guard.
