Putting the “Blue Lives Matter” symbol on cop cars in Sausalito wasn’t a good idea.
The symbol is a flag with one of the stripes in blue. Agree with it or not, it is a political symbol and political symbols do not belong on public property.
The Sausalito City Council heard a number of citizens complain about it at their last meeting and ordered the police chief to have the symbols removed.
That’s 100 percent the right call.

Michael Costa says
So your saying LBGT flags shouldn’t be flown at a city hall , BLM statements shouldn’t be on school billboards?
Marin says
What is your opinion, Michael?
Jack Dorsey says
“It was started in response to Black Lives Matter after the homicides of NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu in Brooklyn, New York on December 20, 2014”
With that being said Mr. Costa, it has indeed turned political when the populism spreads across not only police departments just as of recently, but has a SPECIFIC CORRELATION of support with people who tend to be on the more conservative spectrum. History was taught a certain way to us in school, right? Yes. Misled historical information our school systems agreed upon at the time. Are people angry and oppressed because of what has been going on since slave says? YES. You do realize that the police in a way are hired body guards for higher class income families, regardless of that families race, religion, etc. This is backed up by demographic analytical data on arrests, and if a majority of detainees were minorities or not, and also what they were charged with.
“It fosters this ‘us versus them’ mentality,” he said. “The police and community should work together, in order to produce safety. Each should respect the role of the other. If you’re looking at the community as a potential enemy, or a threat, that’s certainly going to hinder any positive relationship.”
Now let me address the LGBT red herring you attempted. This is a social movement on oppression constituted with hate based on sexual preference. Which, as you know, was frowned upon heavily in recent history, and actually still is to this day with many groups unfortunately.
So I urge you to take a step back, and do your research. The hidden ad hominem in your message is not ok, and aggressive. I just strongly recommend you read more statistical facts from studies of history, politics, political oppression, police brutality, and even a correlation of law enforcement and white supremacy.
That is all.
P.S. I hope you are not the attorney Michael Acosta, from the bay area…
