Frank Bruni, Tuesday, March 15, at 5:30 p.m. Bruni, an Opinion columnist for the New York Times, will appear via Zoom and talk about his memoir The Beauty of Dusk: On Vision Lost and Found, a personal reflection on grief, aging, and adaptation. It is about humanity’s need for clarity, despite the nearly constant blurry signals given in one’s search for it. Tickets, which include a complimentary copy of the book, are $40.
Dorothy Wickenden, Tuesday, March 29, at 5:30 p.m. The New York Times best-selling author will appear via Zoom to discuss The Agitators, the true story of Harriet Tubman, Martha Coffin Wright, and Frances A. Seward—three friends who fought for abolition and women’s rights in mid-nineteenth century Auburn, New York. Tickets, which include a complimentary copy of the book, are $28.
Louann Brizendine, Wednesday, April 27, at 7 p.m. Dr. Brizendine, professor of psychiatry at UCSF’s Weill Institute for Neurosciences and author of The Female Brain, comes to Angelico Concert Hall to discuss The Upgrade. The founder of the first clinic in the country to study gender differences in brain, behavior, and hormones, Dr. Brizendine in “The Upgrade” explains how a woman’s brain gets `upgraded’ in midlife, inspiring and guiding women to unlock their full potential. She will appear in conversation with Emmy-nominated filmmaker Tiffany Shlain. Tickets, which include a complimentary copy of the book, are $40.
Attendees for two Spring 2022 Leadership Lecture Series events in Angelico Concert Hall in April are required to follow Dominican health and safety COVID-19 protocols for indoor events on campus: https://bit.ly/3rI1vH4
