West Nile Virus detected in Marin County

The Marin County Health Department reported on Friday, Sept. 16, Last that several crows infected with West Nile Virus were detected near San Rafael.

Risk should be assumed to be present county-wide.

These are the first reports of West Nile Virus (WNV) activity in 2023. Avoiding mosquito bites is the best way to prevent West Nile virus infection.

Using repellant and draining any standing water sources are two key measures.
