Youth in Arts welcomes music fans to SING OUT! With a virtual fundraiser to benefit the award-winning a cappella ensemble ’Til Dawn.

The fundraiser concert will be broadcast Friday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25, with all proceeds benefitting the ’Til Dawn Scholarship Fund. Tickets may be purchased at www.youthinarts.ticketleap.com.

The popular teen group has been going strong for the past 25 years, drawing talent from local high schools. ’Til Dawn alumni Delta Rae and Drew Gasparini will return for Friday’s concert.

“Supporting young people in the discovery of their creative voices, literally and figuratively, is some of the most vital work of our time,” said longtime director Austin Willacy. “We greatly appreciate the support.”

’Til Dawn encourages positive messages about meaningful issues through the vocal arts. The group performs a mix of rock, pop, blues, jazz and soul standards and contemporary hits, in addition to original songs by group members.

Preparing for Friday’s concert has been no easy feat, with local lockdowns still in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Members have taken to Zoom for the past several months to rehearse songs, including their own rendition of Alicia Keys’ hit “No One.”

The group has produced considerable talent over the years. Gasparini is an award-winning musical theatre composer and lyricist, currently working on a Broadway adaptation of the movie “The Karate Kid”.

Delta Rae has found success with its unique blend of Gothic American, country and gospel music. The six-person band has just released its third album. The group’s lineup includes Ian, Eric and Brittany Holljes, Liz Hopkins, Mike McKee and Grant Emerson.
